As part of our expanding Focus ST product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our Stage 2 intercooler upgrade suitable for track or fast road use. In order to ensure there is no noticeable loss in performance during extended periods of hard driving, we have developed an improved version of our Generation 3 intercooler that includes an air ram scoop to force cold air through the core for more efficient air flow and to ensure cooler charge temperatures. Our solution to increasing the intercooler’s size and performance within the confines of the limited space behind the bumper is based upon a 60mm core that’s twice as high and almost 100mm longer than the standard item. This offers a massive increase in overall capacity in comparison to the original intercooler, as well as a 127% increase in frontal area over standard, which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. Together with our high-flow end tanks and air diverter scoop to ensure flow is directed correctly and efficiently, the AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler offers much greater efficiency and volume over standard. Bolt on power; no extra parts required to fit, connects to standard size boost hoses and comes with all fixtures and fittings. Designed as a comprehensive middle-ground option to suit Land Rover Defender/Discovery or Range Rover 300TDI owners that wish to see a noticeable improvement in performance but without having to sacrifice the front end space required for a full front mount intercooler set up. This freer-flowing intercooler features a double sized core and offers much greater surface area, efficiency and volume over standard. It is also a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM set up yet still fits neatly beside the standard radiator, therefore allowing the space required for items such as a larger winch set up or additional air-con radiator. The intercooler features our proven race quality bar and plate core that not only out performs OEM intercoolers, but is also stronger and much more durable, making it ideal for harsh environments and heavy off-road use. With the AIRTEC intercooler fitted and the fuelling appropriately adjusted to suit, intake temperatures are dramatically reduced, therefore giving a large and noticeable increase in performance. PRODUCT INFORMATION: The CSF Charge Cooler Water Radiator AKA Heat Exchanger is the most technologically advanced on the market. Independently proven to drop intake air temperatures by 10C vs. the OE heat exchanger. Car tested was a B58 car with Pure Turbos Stage 2 Turbo Upgrade! Drops Intake Air Temps ✅ Drops Intake Air Temps Consistently ✅ The tuning potential for the charge-cooled M1/240i, 1/2/3/420i and 1/2/3/425i is huge. However, once boost levels are increased the charge air temperature increases which is due to compressed air heating up. The stock cooling system works okay on a stock car but once boost levels are increased and more heat is introduced it begins to struggle. Increased heat robs power in several ways, the main being that hotter air is less dense and results in less oxygen which is key for power and with the hotter air the risk of knock is also increased, to counter this the ECU will introduce its safety protocols to reduce power until the air is cool again. The only way to maintain and improve performance is to reduce the temperature is by improving the cooling performance. CSF is proud to announce its new halo product, the “Level-Up” Charge-Air-Cooler Manifold for the 2021+ G8X M3/M4 platform. CSF set out to create a charge-air manifold that would not only match the S58 engine performance, but take it to a whole other level with its ultra high performance features and durability. Design, Engineering, and Development CSF worked closely with its strategic manufacturing partner PWR and Local R&D Partner Studio RSR on the development of the “Level-Up” Charge-Air-Cooler Manifold. The relationship with PWR offers CSF access to exclusive cutting edge Formula 1 grade technology, while Studio RSR offers expertise in real world race experience and hands on mechanical knowledge of the G8X platform. There are many engineering details CSF isn’t ready to divulge prior to the official release. However, there is still a lot of information to share and details to be seen. Key Features Billet Construction & PWR Core The manifold is fully made from the highest grade billet aluminum. Each part is CNC machined with the highest precision and TIG welded to form a single air-to-water charge-air-cooler that is integrated into the intake manifold. The CSF manifold is not only capable of achieving the highest levels of performance of the s58 engine, but it’s all metal design is capable of withstanding extreme boost levels. The ultra high performance liquid-to-air core is made by PWR. This Bar & Plate core is pressure tested to 120 psi to ensure it will withstand the high boost levels motorsports race teams can throw at it. Feedback from the community has shown the OEM core which is crimped onto plastic end tanks is prone to failure starting at just 27 pounds (psi) of boost pressure. Fuel And Nitrous Adding power always requires more fuel. Similar to the industries best selling B58 “Super Manifold” (CSF #8200) , the G8X M3/M4 S58 “Level-Up” Manifold features a top feed port injection system. The injector bungs are machined directly into the intake runners. The kit includes both the Fuel Rail and CNC Machined Block-Off Caps for non-use. In addition, the manifold also has integrated ports on each runner for Nitrous or Methanol Injection. Individual ports for each runner allows for maximum control and tuning. CSF set out to create a charge-air manifold that would not only match the S58 engine performance, but take it to a whole other level with its ultra high performance features and durability. Design, Engineering, and Development CSF worked closely with its strategic manufacturing partner PWR and Local R&D Partner Studio RSR on the development of the “Level-Up” Charge-Air-Cooler Manifold. The relationship with PWR offers CSF access to exclusive cutting edge Formula 1 grade technology, while Studio RSR offers expertise in real world race experience and hands on mechanical knowledge of the G8X platform. The ultra high performance liquid-to-air core is made by PWR. This Bar & Plate core is pressure tested to 120 psi to ensure it will withstand the high boost levels motorsports race teams can throw at it. Feedback from the community has shown the OEM core which is crimped onto plastic end tanks is prone to failure starting at just 27 pounds (psi) of boost pressure. Fuel And Nitrous Adding power always requires more fuel. Similar to the industries best selling B58 “Super Manifold” (CSF #8200) , the G8X M3/M4 S58 “Level-Up” Manifold features a top feed port injection system. Like the previous S55 powered M2C, M3 & M4 the G8X platform has an air-to-water intercooler system to keep charge temperatures in check, and also like the previous generation, the standard coolers really start to struggle once ambient temperatures are hot, drivers are pushing the cars and especially once boost levels are increased with ECU software tuning. PRODUCT INFORMATION: Keep your charge temperatures consistently cooler with CSF's High-Performance All-Aluminium Heat Exchanger for Mercedes-AMG E63 AMG and more! This multi-fit CSF heat exchanger replaces the small heat exchanger with an upgraded unit. This upgraded unit has a significantly improved design, specifically designed to keep charge temperatures consistently cooler. The Problem As you probably already know, as the turbocharger compresses air this heats it up. This hot air is bad for the engine as it will reduce the knock threshold and limit the safe power output of the engine, killing fun. Aftermarket ECU software increases boost pressure, this means that the air will be compressed more and thus, heat up more. The factory heat exchanger is designed for standard power levels and expected type of use, as soon as you go outside of the factory power levels and expected type of use, your factory heat exchanger will begin to struggle. As well as this, as your radiator goes through its life the core will deteriorate externally as well as fill with contaminates internally to reduce its cooling power. The Solution The CSF heat exchanger for the Mercedes-AMG E63 and more is a larger, more efficient heat exchanger for significantly improved cooling power. CSF’s cores are unique in that it uses our B-tube design for the radiator tubes. The B-Tube core is comparatively stronger than the O-Tube which allows the tube to be made using less material, improving heat transfer and being much lighter than an O-Tube radiator of the identical sizing. This, combined with the dual laminar flow and improved surface area inside the core allow for an efficiency improvement of around 10-20% vs. an O-Tube core heat exchanger of the same size. Whilst more expensive to manufacture, for performance use, it is the perfect heat exchanger tube design! Alongside this our high-efficiency multi-louvred fins are optimised for each application. With the increased cooling power charge temperatures are kept consistently cooler, restoring power lost through hot charge air temps. This means you will enjoy more power, more of the time, in more conditions! How the CSF design does it In the chart below you can see the OEM core (original) design vs. the CSF core design. The CSF core is deeper, has more cooling tubes and a much larger flow area. This results in a huge increase in cooling performance.
